As you would all be aware by now the understandable fear this virus is generating has had crippling effects on our business. Unfortunately, as a business closing our doors is our best bottom line action to take as we are no longer profitable. But this would mean our loyal devoted staff of 80 are left without a job. With much sadness we cannot bear this to happen.
In order to best support our staff, we have decided to continue to trade. With more of a troubling dip in the economic landscape to come, we ask for your support and understanding. We will constantly be updating and changing our operating hours in order to not only address health issues as they arise but the ongoing viability of the business to at least cover wage costs.
One of the most obvious changes you will notice is that we have halved our seating capacity at La Camera Southgate by allowing some distance between tables as it is becoming the norm here in Australia & overseas, as social distancing becomes an essential safeguard measure.
Beyond simply monitoring the outbreak of the novel coronavirus [COVID-19] closely, we are taking active measures to help keep everyone safe and halt the spread of the virus. We have always followed food safety and sanitation standards; however, we have implemented a number of additional precautions to proactively minimize the risk of exposure to the virus for our staff and guests.
You’re in safe hands
Our team members including Managers, bartenders, floor and kitchen staff have been fully briefed about the specific protocols to follow in relation to this virus. We are fully prepared with both preventive and responsive measures.
We are going the extra mile when it comes to our menus, tables, cutlery, glassware, etc. We are using disinfectants that are effective against the coronavirus. Hand-sanitizer dispensers have been placed throughout both venues and are available at any time. We have also increased the frequency of cleaning and sanitizing hard surfaces such as doors, touch screens, restrooms and so much more.
Let’s not risk it…
The management for both venues has strict procedures in place to make sure that any team member stay at home if they feel sick and will need to provide a medical certificate to confirm that they are not a risk to others.
Saying that, we do ask you to do the same if you feel under the weather, as we will refuse entry to both venues, to anyone who shows any symptoms. But don’t you worry, we will keep you a seat for when you are feeling better!
We encourage you to practice safety measures at home and when you are out and about.
Wash your hands with soap or antibacterial hand wash and water frequently.
No access to water? Use hand-sanitizers.
Cover your nose and mouth with a tissue or your elbow if you have to sneeze or cough and dispose the
tissue in the bin immediately.
Your safety and customer satisfaction are our main priority, so please do not hesitate to contact us if you have any questions.
